in february at the SHOWIT united conference i facilitated a photoshoot about finding vision + chasing a moment with children. the purpose was to encourage others to get to the heart of their creativity, to be free and explore when approaching children portraits. to embrace their unique vision. not only was this an amazing experience which i shared here, but the friendships that grew from the connections i made with other photographers are completely invaluable.
one of the many amazing women i had the chance to connect with was jo auger, an amazing photographer from long beach california. since meeting, jo an i have continued to develop a conversation around our passion and vision - when i shared i would be hosting mini sessions in malibu jo told me she would be there to join the fun day at the beach. i was completely humbled that another photographer wanted to see her children through my eyes. part of working with people is the blending of our stories, my vision is not only a perception of my subjects but a projection of my feelings and experiences of life in the hopes of creating imagery that hopefully speaks of something a bit more.
i want to dig deep + feel more with each fleeting moment in life and in my photographs
jo’s little girls were not only too cute for words they were sweet and soulful.
